Chris Cantell Discusses TV: Cyprus in the spot light

On the Internet you find so many things that help you. The recent announcement of The Foreign Ministry and the Press and Information Office took me by surprise. The new Cyprus internet TV created such a dilemma inside my mind that I cannot get it out. The official reason is that people all over the world, with access to the Internet, to discover Cyprus. By clicking the following link http://www.cyprusonfilm.com you will enter in a world of documentaries about Cyprus in Greek, English and French, containing information about history, culture, the political situation, people, customs and traditions. Cypriot Foreign Minister Erato Kozakou & Markoulli and Director of the PIO Yiannakis Solomou attended the conference two. Besides all the documentaries they said at first 17 films in Greek, 30 in English, four in French and nine in other languages will be broadcasted. There will be also TV interviews of the President of the Republic of Cyprus, the Foreign Minister and other officials. A CD-Rom with information concerning Cyprus geography, environment, history, the political system, transport, communication was introduced at the press conference. I'm surprised only by the fact that only in Turkish (the other official language of the country) there weren't translated any movies. They say it's because of lack of translators. In a country where you have it like a second official language is indeed easier to find people to translate in French and other languages. I would have thought is the exact opposite, but what do I know. There is a crazy world out there and we have to deal with it. I don't know why a country needs something like that (if it is not a communistic propaganda). Surf some more, you might be lucky to find an answer.
