A new great show on Pod3.tv!
by Ana Maria Ciobanu

Pod3.tv is the UK's fastest growing video-podcast webTV company. It's a webTV site which provides original video-on-demand, free of charge, sponsored by TV shows. They're slogan is "Pod3.TV - TV for the 21st century!" because they show TV, but not as we've known it for the last 80 years. They are now ready to expand the wide range of VOD(video on demand), by launching a new series of video podcasts covering an area I'm personally fascinated by, the world of motorbikes. The webTV show is called "Byxx & Stuff" and is a great commercial opportunity to get your message in front of the 500,000,000 users of iTunes. The first episode showed them visiting a secret military support establishment where they reviewed a 2-wheel drive motorbike. They were also in the workshop with Ricky Ross and Andy Peck of Team Spidey and saw them prepare their 1000cc Aprillia RSV Mille for The Sound of Thunder Championship. I can't wait for more episodes. I'd love to see them interview some real bikers. I'd love to see them present some cruisers and some choppers along with users opinions and suggestions. Perhaps they could introduce apart in the show about proper equipment, demonstrations of how a helmet really protects you in a crash and so on. For suggestions and ideas for the shows I should address(and so could you) to: ideas @ pod3.tv. If you want to advertise in pod3.tv shows go to: sales@pod3.tv.

WebTV
by Claudia Sonea

It's getting old the whole talk around this subject. There are so many that want a piece of the project, that I won't be surprised if any time now it will become a reality. Bill Gates is terrible angry because people doesn't seem to understand the importance of such an invention. Besides the wannabe YouTube- a web site with short videos, mostly ads or music clips- BBC has launched the iPlayer, an online catchup service that will offer the possibility of watching again all the programs for seven days after transmission. Also Channel 4 has the 4OD on-demand is working since last December, but only on Windows, so it is a drag for those with Mac. Project Kangaroo, which would operate as a single access point for all TV channels on the web, is only a rumor and if you want hearsay: the BBC's director of new media and technology, Ashley Highfield, wants to create TVs with internet TV into cable. Technology is about to barge in our lives and overwhelm us. The fact is that we love mastering things and being in the trend. Surfing is an every day activity and the computer has become part of our daily timetable. Nowadays, more and more use the Internet. All this fuss around the Web TV is old, because people were already attempting to find solutions to an online broadcast. BBC's iPlayer it is nothing we haven't heard about, it is only one step forward to the fulfillment of the goal of mastering the TV programs in order to fit our taste. No more coach potato, but computer freak. Gigaspeed ahead to a new site.

Visiting Telegraph.co.uk is a must!
by Ana Maria Ciobanu

A very interesting concept is starting to catch on. The telegraph.co.uk, "Britain's No.1 quality newspaper website" is operating with "Your top web TV". As if the site wasn't already interesting enough they've introduced videos and recordings. But it is not "just videos". YouTube is filled with millions of uninteresting videos, they've selected the best on the Web and placed it on their site. When I visit the Telegraph Web site I feel like a little child left alone in a huge toy store to play with everything. They have excellent book reviews and book comparisons, book recommendations which are just perfect in this dreadful landscape we're living, where no one has the time anymore to open a book. They have links to art blogs, picture galleries, visual arts, films, radio, a Telegraph chess club! In a world dominated by PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo there are some people out there who are combining Web 2.0 technology with culture, and care more about conserving this ancient elegant game rather than getting rich by placing video game ads on their site. If you visit the Web site you must check out the "50 must-watch web video clips" section. You can also use the comment box to recommend more links are to try out the links placed by other visitors. For today I recommend you to check out TUESDAY'S PICKS. I personally enjoyed "From Trainspotting to Oliver Twist" a great comparison and a great reading of Charles Dickens' novel executed by Irvine Welsh. You can access it at tinyurl.com/2xy3wx

Cyprus in the spot light
by Claudia Sonea

On the Internet you find so many things that help you. The recent announcement of The Foreign Ministry and the Press and Information Office took me by surprise. The new Cyprus internet TV created such a dilemma inside my mind that I cannot get it out. The official reason is that people all over the world, with access to the Internet, to discover Cyprus. By clicking the following link http://www.cyprusonfilm.com you will enter in a world of documentaries about Cyprus in Greek, English and French, containing information about history, culture, the political situation, people, customs and traditions. Cypriot Foreign Minister Erato Kozakou â€" Markoulli and Director of the PIO Yiannakis Solomou attended the conference two. Besides all the documentaries they said at first 17 films in Greek, 30 in English, four in French and nine in other languages will be broadcasted. There will be also TV interviews of the President of the Republic of Cyprus, the Foreign Minister and other officials. A CD-Rom with information concerning Cyprus geography, environment, history, the political system, transport, communication was introduced at the press conference. I'm surprised only by the fact that only in Turkish (the other official language of the country) there weren't translated any movies. They say it's because of lack of translators. In a country where you have it like a second official language is indeed easier to find people to translate in French and other languages. I would have thought is the exact opposite, but what do I know. There is a crazy world out there and we have to deal with it. I don't know why a country needs something like that (if it is not a communistic propaganda). Surf some more, you might be lucky to find an answer.
