Cand Friendster s-a lansat a fost populat rapid de oameni care aveau motive bune de a se conecta unul cu celalalt. In mare, primii useri locuiau in regiuni diferite de orasele natale, sau locuiau in orasul natal dupa facultate. Gasirea "pretenilor pierduti" a fost un joc foarte amuzant- oamenii vroiau sa se conecteze in aceasta retea. Desigur simpla conectare nu era suficienta si era efemera dar foarte distractiva. Conectarea este activitatea initiala pe care o desfasoara si noi venitii de pe MySpace, dar acestia depasesc acest stadiu rapid. Desigur ca aceasta activitate nu se pierde de tot, mai ales pentru ca MySpace recunoaste ca nu toti "prietenii" sunt prieteni si nimanui nu-i bate la ochi daca cineva aduna sute de prieteni in lista.MySpace nu a incercat sa isi forteze utilizatorii sa se conecteze intr-un anumit fel. Reteaua a lasat practica sa evoluleze asa cum au considerat utilizatoriii de cuviinta, fara sa-i critice, fara restrictii. Pe masura ce conectarea a evoluat oamenii au inceput sa o foloseasca la llucruri noi:flirt, adevrtising, directii culturale.Friendster s-a lansat intr-un moment in care economia era inceata si multi internauti de 20 de ani pierdeau timpul cu slujbe de care nu le pasa mai deloc; acesti internauti au fost foarte fericiti sa poata pierde ore in sir online. Aceasta a fost o cauza mica pentru care Friendster a pierdut acest target, dar trebuie luata in considerare.MySpace s-a lansat la momentul cand acest public tinta era inca entuziast sa gaseasca cat mai multe lucruri kitchoase online. Au sarit pe MySpace si si-au creat profile de diferite naturi culturale, completate cu cantitati impresionante de produse media facandu-si paginile mult mai expresive decat Friendster le-ar fi permis. MySpace nu i-a oprit. Rezultatul a fost ca entuziasmul cultural a fost intretinut si a crescut si a crescut...MySpace a evoluat odata cu userii sai, construind o relatie bazata pe respect si incredere, incercand sa le satisfaca mereu asteptarile si nevoile, oferindu-le mereu imbunatatiri si dandu-le mereu exact ce ce isi doresc Friendster nu a facut acelasi lucru- s-a luptat cu userii sai, spunandu-le cum sa se poarte, cum sa interactioneze, ce fel de fotografii sa uploadeze. Nimanui nu-i place ingradirea si "un spatiu personal" a sunat din acel mult mai bine decat un site transormat in agentie matrimoniala.

Profitul pentru Apple Tv se invarte undeva pe langa 20 de procente, in contrast cu cele 40 pana la 50 de procente pentru majoritatea modelelor iPod, conform ultimului raport al firmei de analiza iSuppli.Raportul nu ia in considerare alte costuri pentru cabluri, ambalat, marketing, cercetari asa ca sustine ca acoperirea poate fi chiar mai scazuta.Speculand motivul pentru care Apple scumpeste unitatea, iSuppli spune ca Apple eschiveaza profitul in favoarea potentialei abilitati de a propulsa modelul iPod in sufrageriile tuturor.Admitand ca unitatea este un hub media, analistii amintesc lipsa playback-ului pentru DVD, scrierii de DVD in comparatie cu declaratia lui Steve Jobs la conferinta Dow Jones D5 in care acesta spune ca Apple TV este "DVD playerul pentru era internetului"In legatura cu anumite componente specifice iSuppli stabileste pretul pentru Intel Pentium M de 1GHz care foloseste mai vechiul procesor 90nm la 40 $, pe cand valoarea estimata a microprocesorului Intel si a logic chips-urilor northbridge si southbridge este de 68$. PLaca Video Nvidia GeForce Go 7300 are un pret estimat de 15$. Hard drive-ul este estimat la 37$, card-ul 802.11n- 19$, producerea 10$. Adaugand costul unor componente variate, iSuppli estimeaza ca pretul total de producere a unui Apple TV este de 237$. Mark Kirstein, vicepresedinte iSuppli spune ca exista o multime de gadgeturi de tipul Apple Tv pe piata si cu toate acestea nimeni nu a descoperit modalitatea de a vinde cateva sute de mii de modele. Totusi, daca exista o companie care poate gasi forumula exacta pentru succes, acea companie este cu siguranta Apple

Cel mai popular loc de intalnire de pe pamant este WWW! Ce inseamna asta mai exact? Intr-un mod simplist- exista milioane si milioane de utilizatori de internet care se conecteaza intre ei si isi creeaza locuri de intalnire virtuale. Daca esti un entuziast al sahului sau un bucatar grozav, colectionezi insecte rare sau esti devotat ultimelor trenduri in moda, sau daca pur si simplu iti place sa te imprietenesti cu oameni din lumea intreaga, exista un loc de intalnire pentru aproape orice gust, interes sau persoana.MySpace ramane regele retelelor sociale, conform Hitwise, obtinand 79.7 % din vizitele pe site-urile din aceasta categorie in luna aprilie 2007.Facebook ocupa locul al doilea cu 11.47% vizite si Bebo ocupa pozitia a treia cu 1.28%. Traficul MySpace a crescut cu 70%. Pentru a ilistra cat de multa influenta detine MySpace in categoria aceasta de site-uri, peste 25% din click-urile catre celelalte 19 retele sociale de top au venit direct de la MySpace.Povestile de succes ale MySpace, Facebook, LinkedIn, Hi5, Yahoo 360 si Tagged au fost cunoscute de multi tineri ambitiosi din Vietnam. Acestia viseaza sa construiasca ceva similar pe piata locala si spera sa creeze o comunitate vibranta, unita si mai tarziu sa vanda conceptul unor companii interesate.Mai intai, avem povestea Vietspace la vietspace.net.vn.. Acest site a fost introdus la inceputul lui 2006 si are aproximativ 3000 de vizitatori pe zi. Membrii inregistrati iis pot crea propriile pagini cu URL-ul vietspace.net.vn/username. Cu toate ca tehnologia din spate nu este la fel de avansata ca cea MySpace, utilizatorii pot shar-ui muzica, posta bloguri si stiri. Vietspace nu are un public tinta, fiind destinat oricui. Vnspoke.com este construit similar LinkedIn.com cu scopul de a oferi interconectare cu oamenii de afaceri. In afar acestor doua site-uri mai exista thehetre.vn(o retea sociala care tinteste catre publicul tanar), thegioiblog.com(o platforma de blogging). Oamenii sunt innebuniti dupa conceptul Web 2.0 si aceste site-uri acopera numai o mica parte din ce se intampla de fapt in Vietnam.

Un adolescent sta in fata unui magazin de muzica si vrea sa stie ce sanse de bunastare va avea in viitor.Avesti cetateni normali isi pot inregistra intrebarile in format video si le pot posta pe site-ul de video sharing YouTube. Si ar putea primi chiar si raspunsuri...YouTube si CNN au spus joi ca vor organiza doua dezbateri in care vor permite alegatorilor sa-si expuna intrebarile pentru candidati.Acesta este cel mai recent exemplu pentru faptul ca politica imbratiseaza trendurile Web 2.0Utilizatorii YouTube vor crea videoclipuri de tipul celor prezentate initial, de 30 de secunde in orice fel de format- de la confesiuni in fata web-cam pana la muzica,animatie etc.- pentru a ilustra problemele pe care le considera imperative pentru urmatoarele alegeri. Desi YouTube este principalul competitor in domenuiul video-sharing, MySpace se pregateste sa devina un rival serios in acest domeniu prin relansarea si renumirea propriului serviciu de video-sharing. MySpaceTV, cum a fost numit fostul MySpace Video, este disponibil tuturor utilizatorilor de internet, indiferent dak au sau nu au conturi MySpace, si este de asemenea disponibil in 15 versiuni internationale. Este primul serviciu MySpace care nu necesita inregistrare pe site-ul principal. "Acesta este numai varful icebergului", a declarat Chris DeWolfe, CEO-ul MySpace. "Incredibila crestere pe care o inregistreaza mySpaceTV este o dovada a implicarii utilizatorilor din toate colturile comunitatii MySpace. In ultimul an am inregistrat aproape 20 de milioane de utilizatori numai in S.U.A si continuam sa inregistram cresteri uriase in toata lumea" MySpace a anuntat deja parteneriate cu diferite companii pentru a putea difuza pe MySpaceTV branduri ca National Geographic, The New York Times, Reuters, si publicatii de life-style ca Animation Show, The Daily Reel, Expert Village, Flow, Fox IGN Entertainment, Kush TV, LX.TV, Octane TV, Ripe TV, Studio 411 si Young Hollywood. MySpace creste de asemenea si in domeniul video,conform Media Metrix, cu o crestere a upload-ului de video cu 100% si cu 15 milioane de uploaderi inregistrati din ianuarie pana acum. 38% din din oamenii care posteaza clipuri video pe internet o fac pe MySpace, conform ComScore. "Cand ne vedeti crescand de la 332 milioane de clipuri pe luna, la 648, stiti ca se intampla ceva important", declara Tom Anderson, Co-fondatorul si presedintele MySpace.
